My Approach:
I deeply believe every person, every spirit is uniquely crafted and so are the challenges that come with this human experience. I see you as a full spirit that you are, I will just be an extra set of eyes to help you navigate the waters. Yes, I know and believe people are resilient, capable AND (big believer of the “yes, and”), sometimes challenges aren’t as easy to overcome with just traditional Western therapeutic approaches. I value them and will use them based on what best suits each clients. I gravitate toward Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative, Feminist, Systemic, Interpersonal, & Mindfulness. I also am strong in Solution Focused based counseling. I also align with the holistic and spiritual aspects of therapy. There are times where I might bring in energy work, ancestor work, and crystal healing. I believe the combining of applicable western therapeutic approaches & holistic spiritual approaches are a beautiful union and partnership.

My Education and Experience:
I have my Masters of Science in Multicultural Community Counseling from San Diego State University, which will put me on the LPCC (Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor) licensure track. During my time in this program I gained a deeper understanding of working with the community. apart of from my internship with working with the LGBTQIA community at UCSD. I later deepened my clinical skills at SCAIR (Southern California American Indian Resource Center) where I humbly served the Native American/Alaska Native/Hawaiian Native community and their families. During my time there, I co-facilitated mental health presentations for greater wellness, conducted therapy sessions with individuals, families, children & teens.
My spiritual background and experience has been from all walks of life, from ancestor knowledge being passed down, to ancestral ceremonies. I have trained in reiki and I am able to perform in person and distance reiki (energy work).

Outside of the office/Play Time!:
I am deeply into astrology so outside of work life, I am probably talking someone’s ear off about astrology. As a libra, I deeply enjoy having my creative hands in different realms, so I love creating handcrafted soaps, scented sprays, candles, crystal/gem centered jewelry. I also really really enjoy exploring San Diego on my electric bike, it makes me feel so free! You might also catch me at an open mic basking in all the beautiful energies, or even spending time with close friends at a yummy vegan spot.
The one thing I am focusing on right now, is learning to play the Saxophone! It's been my dream to learn an instrument and the saxophone ended up capturing my heart.

My Commitment To Learning:
You can count on the fact that I will seek out opportunities to expand and deepen my knowledge, to be as equipped as I can, as a therapist. We never stop learning and I have a yearning and joy for learning. Your healing is the most important thing to me, when we enter our sacred therapeutic space; and I want to show up with as many tools as I can, to help and guide you through the challenges and your growth.

My Story:
I want to start off by saying my story is still expanding and unfolding! Where My therapeutic journey began when I was a small one. I come from a family that has deep harmful and painful, lived experiences; sexual abuse, poverty, health challenges, and so many others! When I was around my grandmother, my aunt, my father, I could feel the deep pain they were all carrying around, and it was painful for me to witness and feel. As a small one, all I could think about was, how do I help? This became the central theme of my life as I aged. I continued to find myself being drawn to those spirits that needed to be shown deep compassion, care, tenderness, hard truths and someone who would allow them to be seen in ways none before had.
Growing up being a holder of a multitude of marginalized identities, Black, person with Albinism, Queer, Survivor of a multitude of abuses, and later Trans; I was more open and curious to ask the questions and look in the right places, when it came to supporting people through their hard times. The black queer and or trans community has a special place in my heart, so I always dreamed of finding ways to help, heal and support my communities. I’ve supported my communities through school organizations, community specific events, & personal one on ones. I then realized, therapeutic need always found its way to me; and I needed and wanted to honor that calling and honorable responsibility. It was also important to me to honor the many facets of myself, so I made sure I took the time to soul search, try new things, and come back to counseling with fresh perspectives and more grounded in this calling. Here I am today with a heart, mind, spirit open to connecting with you and seeing where this healing journey goes!
